Sorta Wordless Wednesday-Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces

23 months old

My friend Yuliya over at She Suggests managed to snap this rather dapper looking photo of my son at the park a couple weeks ago.  Asher seems to be showing off his Baltic Amber Teething Necklace so I thought I would do a little plug about why I love ours so much. Amber has long been known for it's healing, pain-relieving  properties. When warmed against the body, amber releases succinic acid which is absorbed through the skin and works as a natural analgesic. These necklaces are just meant to be worn and not chewed on like other teething devices.

I got Asher's teething necklace shortly after his first birthday from a local mama, Jenn, who had just started selling them. She has since gone on to outfit many Reno babies in her fine jewelry at reasonable prices. You can check out her selection of Baltic Amber and Hazelwood necklaces and bracelets HERE. At the time, Asher was cutting a mouth full of teeth at once. He would wake up in the night crying inconsolably, very uncharacteristic, and Hyland's Teething tabs and Baby Orajel only went so far.

After he started wearing the necklace, he was like a different baby. He went back to sleeping peacefully at night and had less outbursts during the day. The rest of his teeth came in with no incident. I never took the necklace off unless it was bath time.

I'm definitely a believer in the awesome power of amber and if I have another baby, I will use one sooner rather than later. Have you used an amber teething necklace with your babe? Are you as big a convert as I am? I sure hope so!

  1. I didn't even take it off for baths. Because I'm lazy.

  2. How cool! I linked to you from Green Baby Diaper's facebook page because you're the second person with an amber teething necklace on WW and they are having a giveaway this week! It's so cool to see these on so many kids!

  3. Thank you for sharing, Tmuffin! I entered the giveaway and posted about it on the Mama's Felt Cafe facebook page. I see Monkey Butt Junction did the other amber teething necklace post. What a funny coincidence!

  4. Beautiful photos, I especially love the first one! My daughter wears a beautiful amber necklace too and she is a really easy teether - another one that confirms the 'myth' :)

  5. Leaving out the scientific aspects of Amber Teething Necklaces, we can say this product is becoming a great help for parents to get enough amounts of sleep, and happily be content seeing their children smiling.
